Tehran
The gateway to Iran, most visits will start and end in the capital city of Tehran. A bustling, busy city it is worth spending a day or two here to shop or visit the museums, which house some of the most important examples of Persian art and culture. We would particularly recommend the Archaeological Museum and the beautifully presented Glass and Ceramics Museum. No visitor should leave Tehran without witnessing the truly spectacular sight of the crown jewels held in the vaults of the Central Bank of Iran or the Shah's stunning former residence known as the Green Palace. The air pollution and terrible traffic are the other joys of visiting Tehran.
